The Mesosaurus Fossil Site and Quiver tree Dolerite Park is situated in southern Namibia, 38km northeast of the town of Keetmanshoop, an area which is renowned for its quiver tree forests and eroded dolerite rock formations.

We are within easy reach of other well known attractions in the south, namely the Fish River Canyon and Ai-Ais hot springs.

 
     
         

The climate in the area is typical of semi-desert country. Summer temperatures vary between 20 to 35 degrees Celsius during daytime, while temperatures above 40 degrees are often recorded. During winter temperatures range from 15 to 25 degrees, and below freezing temperatures are common at night. The rainy season is from October to April with an annual rainfall  of 180mm. Visitors are advised to pack both warm and cold weather clothing for any visit to Namibia.
